Manchester has recently been allocated close to half a million pounds to dig up some old ruins. Sadly, the Northenden.net Diary page is proof enough that Vern and Ern don't need digging up. So instead the money is being spent on digging up Camperlands car park. But why? Lee Cavanagh and Simon Shawdene cast some light on the shadowy history of Northenden Mill, and make some astonishing discoveries on site.

Northenden Flyover
Is it a road? Is it a bridge? Is it a motorway? No! It's a huge, hideous lump of concrete! Scene of clandestine rendezvous, criminal dealings, pop recording sessions and even murder. It's the legendary monolith that is Northenden flyover. Now in it's 40th year, we thought we'd celebrate our distinctive local landmark by showing you some photos of the whole thing going up.
